By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can expect another beautiful day of sunshine and warm temperatures as fair weather conditions dominate the region. According to the latest forecast, skies will be mostly sunny today, with clear conditions continuing into tonight. Rainfall remains unlikely, making it a perfect day for outdoor activities, beach trips, and travel across the country.
Marine conditions will remain moderate, with east-southeast winds blowing at 10-20 knots. Waves will range from 4-6 feet, so boaters are advised to take necessary precautions, especially in offshore waters where conditions may be slightly choppy.
Temperatures will soar today, with highs reaching 92°F (33°C) inland, 87°F (31°C) along the coast, and 77°F (25°C) in the hills. Tonight will be mild and comfortable, with lows of 72°F (22°C) inland, 76°F (25°C) on the coast, and 67°F (19°C) in the hills.
However, while Saturday remains dry and warm, a shift in weather patterns is expected Sunday night. The approach of a cold front will bring an increase in showers, particularly in northern and central areas. Residents should stay informed as conditions could change rapidly as the front moves closer.
For tide watchers, high tide occurred at 6:59 AM, followed by low tide at 10:35 AM, and another high tide at 5:30 PM. Low tide is expected at 1:31 AM on Sunday. The sun will rise at 6:06 AM and set at 6:01 PM, while the moon will rise at 1:15 PM and set at 2:59 AM Sunday morning.
According to Forecaster Francisca Wellington, residents should enjoy the clear and sunny conditions today, but remain aware of the incoming cold front, which could bring showers as early as Sunday night.
