By Horace Palacio: Belizeans can enjoy another day of warm and dry conditions today as a southeasterly airflow influences the region. The Belize Meteorological Service forecasts mostly sunny skies throughout the day, transitioning to clear to partly cloudy conditions tonight. Little to no rainfall is expected, making for a calm and predictable weather pattern.
Marine conditions will shift slightly as the day progresses. Winds from the east-southeast will blow at 10-20 knots, and the sea state will range from slight to moderate. Wave heights will increase from 1-3 feet in the morning to 4-6 feet later, prompting caution for those engaging in marine activities.
Temperatures will remain warm and inviting. Coastal areas will see highs of 85°F (29°C) and lows of 77°F (25°C). Inland regions will be warmer, with daytime highs of 89°F (32°C) and nighttime lows of 69°F (20°C). In the hills, temperatures will range from a high of 78°F (26°C) to a low of 64°F (18°C).
Looking ahead, Sunday will bring mainly fair and dry weather initially. However, isolated showers or thunderstorms are expected to develop inland by evening. By Sunday night, a few showers or periods of light rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecasted to spread across the country.
Today’s tidal schedule includes a low tide at 7:20 AM, a high tide at 1:07 PM, another low tide at 7:20 PM, and a high tide early tomorrow morning at 1:04 AM. Sunrise was at 6:26 AM, and sunset is set for 5:40 PM. The moon will set at 9:41 AM and rise again at 9:58 PM tonight.
Forecaster Crystal Rosalez highlights the calm and stable weather, advising residents and visitors to take full advantage of the sunny conditions while remaining cautious on the water as waves increase later in the day.
