By Horace Palacio: Belizeans will enjoy another warm and dry day, with mostly sunny skies and little to no rain expected for much of Sunday. However, a cold front approaching from the northwest will begin to influence weather patterns later tonight, bringing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across the country.

According to the latest forecast, the day will be mostly sunny, except for a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm over the Maya Mountains this afternoon. Temperatures will be hot, reaching 94°F (34°C) inland, 87°F (31°C) along the coast, and 83°F (28°C) in the hills. Light evening breezes will provide some relief from the heat, but conditions will remain warm overnight.

By tonight, skies will turn partly cloudy to cloudy, with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms expected to develop, particularly along coastal and offshore areas.

Marine conditions remain moderate, with east-southeast winds between 10-20 knots and waves between 4-6 feet. Boaters and fishermen should take precautions as winds may strengthen ahead of the cold front.

For those tracking the tides, high tide occurs at 7:52 AM and 6:50 PM, while low tide will be at 12:04 PM and again at 2:23 AM on Monday. The sun will rise at 6:05 AM and set at 6:01 PM, while the moonrise is at 2:15 PM with moonset expected at 3:46 AM on Monday.

Looking ahead, Monday will see increased cloud cover, scattered showers, and isolated thunderstorms developing during the day, particularly along the coast and offshore. By nightfall, rainfall activity is expected to decrease as the cold front fully passes through the region.

Residents are advised to prepare for changing weather conditions and possible thunderstorms overnight.
