By Aaron Humes: An investigation has commenced into the death of volunteer soldier Pedro Itch, 41, of Laguna Village, Toledo District.

Police were called to a farm road on Saturday morning where they met Pedro’s brother Mateo, who led them to an area outdide of the village along a farm trail where Pedro’s body was discovered.

Pedro had gone out to his farm earlier that morning but early in the morning, he called Mateo to say he was feeling weak and needed help to get back home. Mateo and another brother went to his aid and found him on the farm road, visibly unwell. He lay back on the road and died after repeating that he was not feeling well.

Pedro’s body was taken to Punta Gorda Hospital, with no signs of violence seen, and a medical review is pending.
