By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Verdes FC welcome Belmopan FC to the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium on Saturday night at 7:30 pm as the Premier League of Belize 2025–2026 Closing Championship continues over Valentine’s weekend.
The league leaders have reinforced their squad with two additions: Orlando Velásquez and Colombian midfielder Juan José Cifuentes, both expected to deepen Verdes’ options as they look to extend their perfect start. Verdes stand top on nine points, unbeaten after three matches, and will aim to make their home ground count once again.
Belmopan, however, arrive with confidence and a notable signing of their own. The Capital City club have introduced French goalkeeper Kenzo Surget, the first French player to feature in the PLB. Belmopan sit third on six points, having produced back‑to‑back victories, including last weekend’s 4–0 win away at Wagiya.
Both sides enter the fixture with momentum, and supporters in Benque Viejo del Carmen are expected to create a lively atmosphere as Verdes return to action.
