Verdes FC have strengthened their technical staff with the addition of Luis Fernando Martínez Lizalde as the club’s new Physical Trainer, reinforcing their performance and conditioning department as the defending champions prepare for upcoming Premier League of Belize challenges. Martínez Lizalde joins newly appointed Mexican head coach Luis Antonio Valdés Salas, forming a refreshed leadership team for the Green Machine.
In their announcement, Verdes say they are “proud to welcome Luis Fernando Martínez Lizalde as Physical Trainer, strengthening the club’s performance and conditioning structure ahead of upcoming competitions.”
Mexican outlet CON TODO Deportes, in coverage by journalist José Pepe Arce, noted that Verdes have opted for a modern, scientific high‑performance approach by bringing Martínez Lizalde into the project. The report highlighted his more than 10 years of international experience across Mexico, Europe, and Asia, his Master’s Degree in High Performance, and his strong academic foundation in sports science, injury prevention, and football‑applied technology.
Martínez Lizalde has worked with elite clubs such as Santos Laguna, Toluca, León, Rayados de Monterrey, and SD Huesca, integrating technical staffs that have won Liga MX titles, Concacaf championships, and even an international league title in Asia. His arrival gives Verdes one of the most globally experienced performance specialists to operate in Belizean football.

The Mexican report also noted that the official presentation of both Valdés Salas and Martínez Lizalde took place during an institutional event attended by the club’s sporting adviser Mexican Armando Urueña, who expressed full support for the project aimed at raising competitive standards and strengthening Verdes’ winning identity.
The club close their message with a warm welcome:
