Analytical Chemist
Minimum qualification and skills:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry with one year relevant work experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with three years relevant work experience.
Competencies:
- Strong work ethics and practices, honesty and integrity;
- Sound knowledge of the fundamental principles of analytical chemistry;
- Experience in performing a variety of standard analytical techniques;
- Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of a range of laboratory equipment;
- Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate analytical testing data;
- Experience in conducting chemical calculations;
- Experience applying qualitative and quantitative analytical methods;
- Capacity to achieve results through teamwork;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
- Knowledge of sample handling principles;
- Highly motivated team player who is flexible, objective, and proactive;
- Computer literate;
- Valid class “A” driver’s license.
Job Summary: The Analytical Chemist is responsible for developing, implementing, and performing laboratory tests using internationally recognized analytical methods to detect and quantify chemical residues, contaminants, and other parameters in food, feed, water, and environmental samples. The role also supports laboratory quality control, equipment maintenance, inventory management, troubleshooting, and the supervision of junior laboratory personnel to ensure accurate and reliable analytical services.
