By Horace Palacio: Water levels at Belize’s Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave, Nohoch Che’en, and Barton Creek caves have receded, allowing the resumption of water-based tour activities, the Institute of Archaeology said on Saturday.

Tour guides and operators are advised to remain vigilant and exercise caution while conducting tours, the institute added in a statement.

At Xunantunich, the ferry is currently limited to pedestrian crossings only, while all other archaeological reserves in the country remain fully open to the public.

The Institute of Archaeology said it will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as necessary.
