University of Belize celebrate Maya Heritage Day!

The activities were celebrated under the inspiring theme “Upholding Resilience: The Crucial Role of Indigenous Leadership in Indigenous Communities.”

Students and faculty at UB honored the rich cultural heritage and invaluable contributions of the Maya community.

“From ancient traditions to modern-day leadership, the Maya people exemplify resilience, wisdom, and strength. Their unwavering commitment to preserving their heritage and fostering sustainable practices is truly commendable,” a statement from UB said.

The University of Belize noted that the celebration was a testament to the importance of recognizing and uplifting indigenous leadership in nurturing vibrant and resilient communities.
