By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Last year, funding from the United States Government through the CARSI-ESF program supported efforts by the Human Trafficking Institute (HTI) to train 400 Belizeans, including customs officers, Belize Defense Force personnel, residential care facility staff, and foster families, to respond to human trafficking.
“We are proud to partner with HTI to help frontline officers respond appropriately to victims of human trafficking, ensuring they receive appropriate services, care, and assistance,” the U.S. Embassy in Belize noted.
CARSI-ESF funds support U.S. Government cooperative efforts with civil society organizations to assist in advancing the economic, political, and security needs of partner countries in Central America.
