United Nations Population Fund hands over sexual and reproductive health supplies to Ministry of Health and Wellness

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Recently, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) handed over essential sexual and reproductive health supplies to Ministry of Health and Wellness at the National Vaccine Storage Facility in Belmopan.

The supplies include vital tools such as vaginal speculums of various sizes, forceps, scalpels, and Levonorgestrel tablets, among others.

This contribution supports the Leave No One Behind: Reduction of Adolescent Pregnancy initiative, a three-year project by UNFPA in collaboration with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The project focuses on improving maternal and reproductive health services for adolescents, particularly in rural areas of Belize.

“UNFPA remains committed to reducing adolescent pregnancy across the region by ensuring young people have access to the necessary resources, knowledge, and support,” United Nations Belize said.
