United Nations Development Programme hands over equipment to Women-Owned MSMEs

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) handed over equipment to Women-Owned MSMEs in Gales Point.

The donation was made through the #ClimatePromise project.

“As a serene coastal village, Gales Point is famed for its abundant mangrove forests serving as a vital ecosystem for various wildlife species. The locals are also deeply connected to the land and sea by maintaining traditional livelihoods such as fishing and agriculture,” UNDP noted.

Thus, this donation maintains that sustainable and eco-friendly production which will improve resilience and contribute to food security in the village.

Supporting these enterprises not only drives economic development by creating jobs and increasing productivity but also contributes to women’s empowerment and social inclusion.
