By Zoila Palma: The United Democratic Party (UDP) tomorrow celebrates 52 years since its founding, reflecting on decades of political service, struggles, and achievements in Belize.
Leader of the Opposition, Tracy Panton, highlighted the party’s enduring commitment to democracy and national progress, saying: “In our 52 years, we have endured our fair share of struggles as we have borne witness to many triumphs and unquestionable progress. As the Father of Belize’s Democracy, the Hon Philip Goldson cautioned many years ago, ‘the time to save country is before we lose it.’”
Panton called on UDP leaders, officials, representatives, and members to unite, emphasizing the importance of standing together to defend Belize’s sovereignty, protect democracy, and advocate for the well-being of all citizens.
She concluded with a celebratory message: “Happy Birthday Us. Long Live Belize. Long Live the UDP.”
