By Aaron Humes: A body of a man found Wednesday morning around 7 a.m. displayed apparent gunshot injuries and was in an advanced state of decomposition, according to official police reports.
An unknown person was fishing on the river bank when he spotted a blue drum with the human remains inside. That person contacted police who responded and retrieved the remains.
The deceased wore blue jersey pants and a grey t-shirt. The body carried a tattoo with the name “Chris” on the left hand and a musical note.
No one in the area could identify the person, and the body was transported to Belize Medical College morgue awaiting a post-mortem examination. Police investigations continue.
