By Zoila Palma: UNICEF Belize notes that in times of crisis, children need more than just shelter.
“They need emotional support. This is why; UNICEF Belize is equipping emergency responders with Return to Happiness (RTH) kits filled with tools to help children heal through play, art, and expression,” UNICEF said.
UNICEF added that to ensure partners are fully equipped to implement the programme during emergencies, targeted trainings are scheduled for key emergency responders in Belize City and San Pedro.
Today 5 RTH kits were presented to the City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO) under the Belize City Council, to ensure they are ready to support children in the event of a crisis.
Each kit includes:
Crayons & markers
Books & sketch pads
Puppets & games
Paint, dough, chalk Notepads, tape, scissors, skipping rope
