Sarina Wiegman has extended her contract with the England women’s team to stay on as head coach until 2027, taking in that year’s World Cup, and said she had “unfinished business” with the Lionesses.
Wiegman led England to Euro 2022 glory but lost last year’s World Cup final against Spain. Wiegman said: “I am so happy to have the chance to lead England through to 2027 after an incredible two and a half years. Looking forward, we have unfinished business and I know we are capable of even more, although nothing will come easy. Our game is becoming so competitive at the top level.
