By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Under-20 Belize Women’s National Team (U20 BMNT) arrived in St John’s, Antigua, on Wednesday morning ready to tackle Guyana, Haiti, and Antigua and Barbuda in the Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Qualifiers for the Concacaf Championship.

The U20 BMNT started their journey from Belize to Cancun on Monday, Cancun to Miami on Tuesday, and Miami to their final destination, Antigua and Barbuda, on Wednesday.

As they prepare for the upcoming competition which kicks off on Friday, let’s take a closer look at the players and the technical staff who are driving this team toward success.

Meet the Players

The goalkeeping duties are shared by Angelica Beatriz Lopez and Ahniyah Louise Cocom. Their agility and sharp reflexes are vital for the team’s defense.

The defenders form a formidable line of protection, including Jasha Gloria Bernardez, Marcelle Janelly Mar, Tory Virginia Ramirez, Aldisha Karissa Yat, Riann Desiree Acal, Jahniah Anigi Arnold, and Kelanie Nicole Foreman. Their coordination and resilience are key to thwarting opponents’ advances.

In the midfield, players like Betsy Danaisy Elismari Perez, Kenya Yuleidi Perez, Ceneia Henny Apolonio, Lineth Marieli Chan, Zariah Zashia Gentle, Josefin Jessica Reyes, Abbie Carrie Calvio, Premilie Windy Hope, and Deborah Sharon Gordon orchestrate the game’s tempo.

Leading the attack are strikers Khalydia Kiashia Velasquez and Shanalee Stacey Smith, whose speed and precision will hopefully keep the opponents’ defense on their toes.
