By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Muffles College boys won their first game at the Under-18 CODICADER Games, defeating Guatemala’s Colegio Privado Mixto Tecnológico en Informática 3-1 on Monday morning at the Cancha FESA in San Salvador, El Salvador.
Muffles demonstrated perseverance and determination in the face of adversity, securing Monday’s victory after four consecutive losses at the regional games. They started with a 4-1 loss to Costa Rica’s Liceo UNESCO on Thursday, followed by an 8-0 stumble to El Salvador’s C.E. Católico Educando a un Salvadoreño on Friday. On Saturday, they suffered a 4-0 loss to Honduras’ Instituto Satuyé, and on Sunday, they dropped their fourth match, 2-0, to Nicaragua’s Instituto Nacional Dr. Carlos Vargas B.
But on Monday, everything was joy for the Belize representatives.
Muffles will now close against leaders, Panama’s Instituto Rubiano, on Tuesday at 8:00 am at Cancha FESA.
The Belmopan Comprehensive girls, who are 3-2, will also close on Tuesday against Panama’s Instituto Rubiano at 8:00 am at Estadio Las Delicias.
