By Aaron Humes: The United Democratic Party (UDP) Stann Creek West Convention was held yesterday, Sunday, with Aldon Tasher emerging as the clear winner.
According to official results, Tasher garnered 548 votes, surpassing his closest rivals, Ivan Williams and Macario Augustine, who secured 342 and 43 votes, respectively. A total of 940 votes were cast, with 7 ballots rejected.
Tasher’s victory makes him the party’s choice for the next general elections.
The party has now wrapped up it’s convention season and turns its eyes to the National Convention to be held on November 30, where a new Party Leader and National Executive will be selected.
