U16 Belize Girls National Team edge Club Amigas 2-1 in Chetumal, seal 3rd straight international friendly win

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The U16 Belize Girls National Team (BGNT) continued their winning streak on Saturday afternoon, defeating Mexican club side Club Amigas 2-1 in a tightly contested international friendly at the Estadio 10 de abril in Othón P. Blanco, Chetumal, Mexico.

The victory marks the BGNT’s third consecutive international win in just eight days, reinforcing their momentum ahead of the upcoming Central American Football Union (UNCAF) Under 16 Championship.

Facing a disciplined and technically sharp Club Amigas squad, the Belizean girls showed resilience and sealed the 2-1 win on a brace by Tiffany Cal.

The result follows back-to-back victories over Guatemala’s Acafut Petén’s Tigritos last weekend. On October 25, BGNT triumphed 3-1 in Santa Elena and the following day, they delivered a 4-1 performance in Santa Ana, highlighted by a hat trick from forward Amina Burgess and a goal from Deborah Gordon.

Saturday’s match in Chetumal offered a different challenge, with Club Amigas presenting a contrasting style of play. For Head Coach Gabriel Ramos Sr. and his staff, the series of friendlies has been instrumental in refining player combinations, assessing fitness, and sharpening tactical execution.
