By Zoila Palma: On January 21, 2026, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Katharine Beamer welcomed U.S. Fulbright Scholar Dr. Stephen Levas, Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, as he begins his academic fellowship at the University of Belize.
At UB, Dr. Levas will teach, conduct coral reef research, and engage with local communities.
“Dr. Levas’ work reflects the spirit of the Fulbright Program—bringing American expertise and leadership to communities abroad while advancing education, innovation, and international collaboration,” the U.S. Embassy noted.
