By Zoila Palma:  U.S. Chargé d’Affaires (CDA) Katharine Beamer toured Xi’el Studio, an inspiring initiative managed by the Sarstoon Temash Institute for Indigenous Management (SATIIM).

There, CDA Beamer withExecutive Director Maya Tzalam Choc, a participant in the upcoming 2026 Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative – an entrepreneurship and networking exchange in the United States. 

The CDA experienced firsthand how this innovative clothing line empowers entrepreneurs, while honoring and preserving Indigenous Maya culture.

“The United States proudly supports programs like YLAI that empower young leaders with the networks and global exposure to further strengthen their communities and advance economic growth,” the U.S. Embassy said.
