Tyler Tejeda wins back-to-back Krem’s New Year’s Day Junior Cycling Classics

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Tyler Tejeda won a second consecutive Krem’s New Year’s Day Junior Cycling Classic on Monday, January 1, 2024, in a sprint just like he did in 2023.

Tejeda, riding for Team Valvoline, clocked 2:30:21 seconds edging G-Flow’s Devin Major and Jaylen Briceño at the finish line. Major and Briceño improved considerably moving up from ninth and tenth in 2023 to second and third respectively in 2024.

This years race was 31 minutes and 49 seconds (31:49) faster. Last year, Tejeda won in 3:02:10.

The Junior race covered 52 miles from Orange Walk Town Hall to Belize City finishing on the Central American Boulevard in Belize City.
