By Aaron Humes: In the early hours of today, Friday, July 18, police responded to reports of a burglary in progress at a restaurant located at the intersection of Albert Street and Race Course Street.
Upon arrival, authorities spotted a young male near the establishment, attempting to carry a black television. The young man attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by a police officer, who discovered that he had a knife. Meanwhile, a second teenage suspect was caught as he attempted to escape over a nearby fence.
A thorough inspection of the restaurant revealed that the wooden door on the east side of the building had been heavily damaged, and the interior had been ransacked. Law enforcement officials found a 42-inch black Sansui flat-screen TV abandoned beside the building.
Both teens were taken to Precinct No. 1, where their identities were confirmed. Efforts to reach their parents were unsuccessful, prompting authorities to contact a social worker for further assistance.
Police investigations continue at this time.
