By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police in San Ignacio have detained 2 suspects following a robbery on Friday night in San Ignacio.
Two American tourists were walking on Burns Avenue in San Ignacio around 11pm when a man with a knife approached them.
The culprit demanded a purse from 1 of the tourists and escaped.
The thief escaped with a blue iPhone valued at $1,200, two debit cards, two passports, and $200.
Police tracked the stolen iPhone and recovered it from a drain on West Street.
Officers have detained 1 man from Santa Elena and 1 from Belmopan pending investigation.
