By Zoila Palma: St. Ignatius High School, in collaboration with their partner STEM U Foundation, is organizing an exceptional educational field trip and training program from February 17th to 26th, 2025, in North Carolina, USA.
This incredible opportunity has been awarded by the STEM U Foundation of the USA to the top two (2) 4th form welding and non-destructive testing students, Silsa Perez and Flevian Strand.
The STEM U Foundation of the USA selected them for this training based on their exemplary performance in the welding & NDT program, their dedication, discipline, exceptional skills, and outstanding academic achievements.
“This is a testament to their hard work and the quality of STEM education we strive to provide. We believe this initiative represents a significant achievement for our students and a testament to the power of STEM education in Belize,” St. Ignatius noted.
This two-week training program will provide Silsa and Flevian with invaluable hands-on experience and advanced skills in welding and non-destructive testing, skills that directly align with and enhance the curriculum offered here at St. Ignatius High School.
The students leave Belize today to embark on this training.
