By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The National Meteorological Service is closely monitoring two active systems in the Atlantic, but both remain far from Belize and are not expected to impact the country.

At 3:00 a.m., Tropical Storm Imelda was located near latitude 28.8N, longitude 76.8W, about 165 miles north of the Great Abaco Islands. Imelda is moving northeast at 7 mph with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Humberto continues to churn in the Atlantic. At 3:00 a.m., the storm was positioned near latitude 31.6N, longitude 69.4W, roughly 275 miles west of Bermuda. Humberto is moving north-northwest at 17 mph and carries maximum sustained winds of 100 mph.

Forecasters emphasize that neither storm poses any threat to Belize at this time. Residents are encouraged to stay informed, but there is no cause for concern as both systems remain well away from the region.
