By Aaron Humes: A collision on the George Price Highway late Thursday night left two dead and four injured including a baby that suffered a head injury.
Around 11 p.m., three vehicles – a grey Nissan sedan with Mexican license plates; a white Ford F-150 truck and a Freightliner truck carrying two 40-foot containers. The pickup, driven by 40-year-old Osmond Pineda, allegedly rear-ended the trailer then collided with the sedan, trapping the men inside.
The sedan’s occupants – 35-year-old Belizean-Mexican Otoniel Vasquez Moreno and 36-year-old Amisadai Valdez Dominguez, died on the scene while four others including two children were taken to hospital.
Police have reportedly issued a notice of intended prosecution against Pineda and taken a urine sample to confirm if he was under the influence of alcohol.
Investigation continues.
