By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk Town have arrested and charged two residents for possession of controlled drugs following a house search conducted early Wednesday morning.
According to reports, at around 8:10 a.m. on November 5, 2025, officers from the Orange Walk Special Branch and the Quick Response Team carried out a search at a residence on Asuncion Street. Present at the home were Magda Aracely Zetina, 44, and Jaime Jason Sanchez, 20, both Belizeans residing at the same address.
During the search of Sanchez’s room, officers discovered two transparent Ziploc bags containing a green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis. Police immediately informed both individuals of the offense committed, cautioned them, and escorted them to the Orange Walk Police Station.
At the station, the suspected drugs were weighed, amounting to 22 grams of cannabis, and properly sealed and labeled in the presence of both suspects, who signed the documents voluntarily.
A Police constable who led the operation formally arrested and charged both Zetina and Sanchez for possession of controlled drugs. Both were cautioned and chose to remain silent.
