By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Two of the four people sought over the violent restaurant brawl in Guinea Grass Village have been arrested and formally charged, with one of them caught trying to slip out the back door of his home in the dark as police closed in.

According to the Belize Police Department, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, officers with the Quick Response Team visited a residence in the village, where a man was seen exiting the back door attempting to flee in the darkness. He was quickly apprehended and informed of the report against him. A woman then approached the officers and identified herself, and was informed of the report filed against her as well. Both were placed under arrest, cautioned, advised of their constitutional rights, and escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station.

The two were identified as 27-year-old Darwin Daniel Suchite, a construction worker, and 28-year-old Mabellene Vivian Ramos, a domestic, both of Guinea Grass Village. Interviews were conducted with each in the presence of a Justice of the Peace.

On Monday, July 13, police obtained warrants and formally arrested and charged Suchite with grievous harm and wounding, and Ramos with harm. Both were cautioned once more and chose to remain silent.

The charges stem from the Friday night attack at a village restaurant, where, as Breaking Belize News previously reported, a night out for ceviche erupted into a melee that left three people injured. One victim suffered slash wounds to the face, chest, and back, with injuries certified as grievous harm; a second victim sustained stab and cut wounds, certified as wounding; and a third victim was beaten and bitten, with injuries certified as harm. According to the complainant, the violence was sparked by a past relationship.

Two other persons sought in connection with the attack have not yet been located, and their identities are being withheld pending charges.

As with any criminal matter, Suchite and Ramos are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
