By Breaking Belize News Staff: Emory Lino, 19, and Deandre McKoy, 33, were granted bail last week in the sum of $5,000 each after spending over 90 days on remand for their alleged involvement in a March 3 armed robbery targeting Western Dairies Ltd.
The duo, along with three other men—Tarique Gillett, Christian Castillo, and former Western Dairies employee Willman Espinall—were jointly charged with conspiracy to commit robbery. Lino, McKoy, Gillett, and Castillo were additionally charged with robbing $4,737.44 in cash and a black iPhone from a deliveryman.
The attack occurred near Iguana Stop Restaurant in Burrell Boom Village, where the victims were reportedly ambushed by masked men in black, beaten, and robbed at gunpoint. Quick police response led to the interception of a white vehicle carrying four of the accused.
As a condition of their bail, Lino must report to the Belama Police Station and McKoy to the Mahogany Sub-Police Station three times weekly. Both are prohibited from contacting prosecution witnesses. The case is set to return to court on July 28, 2025.
