Tut Bay, Caesar Ridge face off in Belize District 1st Division Final at Marion Jones Sports Complex Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The stage is set for the championship clash in the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) First Division Closing Tournament, as Tut Bay FC and Caesar Ridge FC battle each other in the final on Sunday, June 8, at 5:00 p.m. at the Marion Jones Sports Complex.

With both teams evenly matched, expectations are high for another intense battle. Their last encounter on Labour Day, May 1, ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw, with Tut Bay drawing first blood through Calvin Thurton’s early third-minute strike. However, Caesar Ridge responded in the 27th minute, thanks to Francis Arana’s equalizer, setting up an action-packed affair.

The second half brought more drama as Kenyon Pratt put Caesar Ridge ahead in the 58th minute, only for Dylan Belisle to rescue a point for Tut Bay in the 82nd, proving that neither side was willing to back down.

With the championship on the line, both teams will be looking to capitalize on their strengths, and fans can expect yet another fiercely contested encounter as they fight for district football supremacy.

Before the final, the third-place match will see Reggae Boyz take on Kelly St. Bombers at 3:00 p.m., ensuring that Sunday’s fixtures deliver plenty of action in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the BDFA 2024-2025 Closing Season.
