By Breaking Belize News Staff: A tropical wave continues to dominate weather conditions across Belize, bringing cloudy skies, scattered showers, and isolated thunderstorms. The forecast for the next 24 hours calls for cloudy skies with sunny breaks during the day. A few outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms will develop over most areas and continue into the afternoon. Tonight skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy with generally isolated showers except in the south where a few more can be expected.
At sea, winds are expected from the east to northeast at 5 to 15 knots, producing choppy seas with waves ranging from 3 to 5 feet. Temperatures along the coast will reach highs of 88 degrees Fahrenheit and drop to 82 degrees tonight. Inland areas will record highs of 93 degrees and lows of 73, while the hills will see highs of 82 degrees and lows of 68.
The National Meteorological Service reports that tropical cyclone formation is not expected in the North Atlantic Basin within the next 48 hours. Looking ahead to Friday and Friday night, shower activity is expected to be generally isolated except in southern districts where a few more showers are likely.
Tide information for today shows a low at 7:31 a.m., a high at 1:13 p.m., another low at 7:07 p.m., and a high just before 1:00 a.m. tomorrow.
