By Zoila Palma:  Thirty-five officers from the Department of Transport’s enforcement teams across the country have begun an intensive three-week training on traffic enforcement.

The program, a joint effort between the Ministry of Transport and the Belize Police Department (BPD), aims to strengthen officers’ understanding of national traffic laws and enhance their enforcement techniques.

Participants will receive specialized instruction in effective strategies and tactics used to improve road safety and compliance.

The training is being conducted at the BPD’s National Police Training Academy, where the officers will be housed for the duration of the course.
