By Breaking Belize News Staff: Following the asset declaration of a well-known public figure, CEO in the Ministry of Transport Chester Williams issued a statement saying that Belizeans should not be condemned for building success.

“It is obvious that the filing was in 2019 long before he became part of government.

I think we should be grateful that he sacrificed his business leaving it to work for the government for a number of years. Applying his expertise to help our government,” Williams said.

“I have seen situations in both PUP and UDP administration’s where successful business people are brought in to help the government particularly in the area of finance. These business people should be commended and not ridiculed because at the end of the day they didn’t had to leave their businesses to come and make pittance in the government service,” Williams added.

Williams further commended all successful business persons who have sacrificed their business and dedicated some time to public service.
