Trail of messages and footage leads to arrest of Kenrick Robinson in Jamir Cameron execution style murder

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A chilling digital trail and surveillance footage have led police to charge a 19-year-old Belize City resident for the execution-style murder of another teenager, Jamir Rodel Cameron, whose final hours were traced through messages, video, and location data.

Nineteen-year-old Kenrick Lindbergh Robinson, a construction worker of Laura Dunn Street in the Antelope Street area, was arraigned on Monday morning in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a single charge of murder. He appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate, who, due to the nature of the offense, took no plea. Robinson was remanded to custody and is scheduled to return to court on June 22, 2026.

Cameron, also 19, a technician of Euphrates Avenue, was found dead in the early hours of Wednesday, April 22, along the Hattieville/Burrell Boom Road with apparent gunshot wounds to his body.

Police say Cameron was last seen alive on the night of Tuesday, April 21. According to investigators, sometime after 9:30 p.m., his girlfriend became concerned when he stopped answering calls and messages. By 11:15 p.m., she tracked his phone, which showed his location along the Hattieville/Burrell Boom Road. She alerted Cameron’s relatives, who searched the area and discovered his body in bushes along the roadside.

A major break in the case came from a photograph Cameron had sent to his girlfriend via WhatsApp shortly before he went silent. The image showed the rear of a silver Chevrolet Equinox, including its license plate.

Police reviewed surveillance footage from Laura Dunn Street, where the same vehicle was seen parked outside Robinson’s residence. The footage reportedly shows Cameron arriving at the yard on a bicycle around 7:30 p.m. and later, around 8:40 p.m., taking a photo of the vehicle—believed to be the same image sent to his girlfriend.

Shortly after, Cameron was seen entering the rear driver’s side of the Equinox. Police say he was accompanied by the driver—known to authorities—and two other individuals, including Robinson, who entered the rear passenger side. Another male reportedly entered the front passenger seat.

The vehicle was then seen leaving Belize City heading toward Ladyville.

Further footage allegedly shows Robinson returning home later that night on foot, before leaving again on what police believe to be Cameron’s bicycle and returning shortly after.

Investigators also obtained WhatsApp data and video clips from Cameron’s phone, which reportedly show him socializing with Robinson earlier that evening and riding in the same vehicle along the highway.

Police later confirmed that the Equinox had been rented out by its owner’s son to a male known to investigators, identified as the driver. The vehicle was processed, and blood swabs were reportedly collected as part of the investigation.

Based on the video evidence and identification by police, Robinson was charged with murder. Authorities say at least one other suspect—believed to be the driver—has been identified but remains at large.

Police investigations into the fatal shooting continue.
