By Aaron Humes: A motorcycle accident on the Phillip Goldson Highway has claimed the life of 34-year-old Celia Carballo, a Guatemalan national and mother of four. The incident, which occurred on Saturday night, involved a collision between two motorcycles.
According to eyewitness reports, Carballo was riding as a passenger on a Lifan motorcycle driven by 24-year-old Francisco Cortez when they collided with a Ducati racing bike operated by Hector Soler. Both Cortez and Carballo were thrown from their motorcycle upon impact, with Carballo tragically succumbing to her injuries when she was flung onto the pavement.
Carballo has been described as a joyful and spirited individual who had lived in the area for two years with Cortez and her children. Her death was unexpected and has left close friends in disbelief.
Following the collision, both Cortez and Soler were transported to hospital. Their current conditions remain unknown, but it has been confirmed that they are receiving medical care.
