Tracy Panton announced that the UDP is making history with 2/3 women leadership.
“The United Democratic Party is proud to make history in having four of its core six leadership positions being held by trailblazing Belizean women.
Recently appointed Secretary General Lyn Singh-Ross rounds out the operational leadership executive of the party. Ross is a widely respected career businesswoman with a passion for community service and volunteerism. Her brilliance and charisma has already been warmly embraced by Secretariat staff and party faithfuls,” Panton said.
“Ross joins a historic team led by the first woman elected to lead a major political party in Belize, Hon. Tracy Panton. Additional glass ceiling breakers on the leadership executive are former minister of government Beverly Williams, who made history when she was first elected to the post of 2nd Deputy Party Leader in 2020; Sheena Pitts, Attorney-at Law and first woman elected Chairman of the UDP, and businessman Lee Mark Chang, the first Belizean of Chinese ancestry elected to the leadership core of a major political party,” a statement explained.
In addition, Omar Figueroa and Elodio Aragon sent letters to Shyne Barrow expressing their support for Panton as leader.
