By Zoila Palma:  Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton has formally applied to the UDP’s Nominations committee to contest their November 30th leadership convention.

“I am a member of the United Democratic Party in good standing. I currently serve as the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives, National Assembly of Belize, unanimously supported by our other four elected Area Representatives and three Senators who have been appointed for this Parliamentary Term (2025 -2030),” Panton expressed.

“I believe my record of impeccable integrity; service to Belize for over 35+ years; having now being elected for three parliamentary terms as representative of the UDP; and my unwavering commitment to the founding values and principles of the Party outlined in our Constitution make me uniquely qualified to lead the UDP at this pivotal time,” she added.

Panton’s leadership candidacy is supported by endorsement letters by members of the UDP.
