By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 33-year-old man from San Felipe Village, Toledo, has been fined $405 after pleading guilty to harming another man during a fight in Belize City.
Leonardo Pana appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he admitted to causing harm to another man on September 5, 2025. Despite claiming that he was provoked and that it was “only a fight,” the court accepted his guilty plea.
In mitigation, Pana explained that he was under stress due to personal family issues, but maintained he was not a troublemaker.
The Magistrate imposed a fine of $400 plus $5 court costs, which must be paid by November 28, 2025, or he will serve four months in prison.
According to police, the fisherman, reported that he was at Conch Shell Bay when he was attacked by a man known as “Mundo” and later joined by Nana. The two men allegedly punched him until he lost consciousness. The victim was treated at the KHMH, where his injuries were classified as harm.
