By Zoila Palma: The Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) has been recognized at the Climate Awards 2026 for its contributions to climate action in Belize.
Caroline Oliver, TIDE’s Program Director, reflected on the event and highlighted remarks by Ambassador Carlos Fuller, who emphasized that Belize, despite its small size, has an important voice in international climate discussions.
TIDE says the recognition reflects the collective efforts of its staff, communities and partners in protecting Belize’s natural resources and promoting a more sustainable future.
