By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) join all Belizeans in expressing deepest sympathy for the passing of Honorable Michael Espat, Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, Investment, Civil Aviation and Immigration and Area Representative of the people of Toledo East.

“Minister Espat has been a longstanding member of both the Port Honduras Marine Reserve (PHMR) and Payne’s Creek National Park (PNCP) Advisory Council Committees for TIDE; and we are very grateful for his service and contributions over the years. His passing will leave an irreplaceable void in the lives of his family, friends, and the people of Toledo District,” TIDE said.

TIDE expressed condolences on behalf of the TIDE Board of Directors, Management and Staff.
