By Zoila Palma: The Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) reached a major milestone on September 17, 2025, with the signing of a 10-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the University of Belize (UB).
The agreement grants TIDE access to UB’s accommodation facility on Hunting Caye, marking a significant step toward the organization’s financial sustainability.
The official signing was carried out by TIDE Board Chairman Jeremy Enriquez, and UB President, Dr. Vincent Palacio.
Both leaders highlighted the importance of the partnership in strengthening conservation and educational opportunities in the region.
TIDE expressed its gratitude to Enriquez, Roy Polonio, Oliver Garay, Caroline Oliver, and all those who contributed to making the agreement possible.
The organization also thanked the UB team for their collaborative spirit and crucial role in bringing the partnership to fruition.
