By Zoila Palma: Communities across Toledo East are experiencing significant infrastructure and social development, Minister Osmond Martinez said during his budget presentation on Wednesday.
Martinez detailed a range of projects, including road upgrades, water systems, electrification, and housing initiatives across multiple villages.
“Bella Vista… is seeing progress every single day,” he said.
He highlighted improvements in access to basic services, including potable water and electricity, particularly in previously underserved communities.
“For the first time since its existence, San Isidro now has clean, reliable, and potable water,” Martinez noted.
In coastal areas such as Monkey River, climate adaptation projects have been implemented to address erosion and protect residents.
“It is no longer one of despair, but one of hope and renewed energy,” he said.
Martinez said the government will continue delivering development through incremental community-based projects.
“We will continue to transform our people’s lives with one project at a time,” he added.
