By Breaking Belize News Staff: Three young men from Belize City’s Southside are out on bail tonight after being charged in connection with the armed robbery of an American tourist, who has since fled the country following the traumatic ordeal.

The accused — Errol Ferguson, 20; Tashawn Broaster, 19; and Kenrick Robinson, 19, — appeared before Magistrate Mannon Dennison on Tuesday to answer to a charge of robbery. All three pleaded not guilty.

The allegations stem from an incident on Saturday, October 18, 2025, when a 50-year-old tourist from Los Angeles, California, was robbed at knife point near Mateo Park in the Kings Park area. The tourist told police that around 3:03 p.m., while walking along E Street, a beige SUV pulled up beside him and two masked men exited. One reportedly brandished a pocketknife and demanded, “Give me everything that yuh have.”

Fearing for his life, he handed over his iPhone 16 Pro Max valued at US$1,200, along with a wallet containing cash in both U.S. and Belizean currency. The robbers then fled in the SUV.

Police later tracked the stolen phone via live location technology to an abandoned lot on Madam Liz Avenue, where it was recovered. Acting on further intelligence, police detained three men — Broaster, Robinson, and Ferguson — who were found in a beige SUV believed to have been used in the robbery.

Before departing Belize on Monday, October 20, the tourist assisted police in locating the phone and identifying the suspects.

The court granted each accused bail of $6,000, with one or two sureties. Conditions include that they report weekly to the Racoon Street Police Station, avoid any contact with the victim, remain at least 100 feet away from him, and not leave Belize without court permission.

All three men were represented by attorney Ronell Gonzalez. There was no objection to bail from the prosecution, which only requested conditions be applied.

The accused are scheduled to return to court on November 27, 2025.
