By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Maskall Village are investigating a road traffic accident that left three women injured on Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. near a curve in Santana Village. Upon arrival at the scene, police observed a black Dodge Dakota pickup and a burgundy pickup that had collided head-on on the right side of the road heading toward Maskall Village.
The driver of the burgundy pickup was identified as 24-year-old Gustavo Villanueva, a farmer of Corozalito. He reported that while driving toward Corozalito Village, he noticed a black pickup parked on the right side of the road and a Bowen and Bowen truck approaching from the opposite direction. He stated that he attempted to avoid a collision but struck the parked vehicle.
The black pickup was driven by 35-year-old Winston Dawson, a mechanic of Santana Village. Dawson stated that he was parked on the left side of the road heading toward Lucky Strike Village when he observed the burgundy pickup swerving before colliding into his vehicle.
Police inspection revealed damage to the hood and bumper of the burgundy pickup and extensive front-end damage to the black Dodge Dakota.
