By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in San Pedro are investigating a triple murder following a shooting incident on Thursday night.
Police responded to reports of gunfire around 9:58 p.m. at an elevated wooden structure located about one mile south of San Pedro Town.
Upon arrival, police found two men inside the house with apparent gunshot wounds. They were identified as 29-year-old Karim Nazim Espat and 35-year-old Oscar Modesto Mas.
A third victim, 21-year-old Yerlin Marisol Bueso Alvarez, was transported to the San Pedro Polyclinic where she later succumbed to her injuries shortly after midnight.
Initial investigations reveal that the victims were inside the house along with another woman when three men dressed in hoodies entered the yard.
One of the suspects reportedly entered the house and opened fire, fatally injuring the victims before fleeing the scene.
Police say another woman who was inside the house managed to escape unharmed.
Investigations into the triple murder are ongoing.
