By Aaron Humes: Police have formally arrested and charged three individuals for: 1 count of “Kept Prohibited firearm”, 1 count of “Kept Prohibited ammunition”, 2 counts of “Kept a firearm without a gun license”, 2 counts of “Kept ammunition without a gun license” and “Possession of a firearm with serial number removed”.
On Monday, February 10, a Police special operations team, various units, and the Customs and Excise Department conducted a joint operation north of San Pedro Town. The operation was led by Officer Commanding Superintendent Egbert Castillo and supervised by Sergeant Devon Makin.
During the operation, a search was conducted in a bushy area where a camp was located. The camp was occupied by three male individuals who identified themselves as 26-year-old Daniel Anthony Lagos, 23-year-old Zephaniah Mariano, and 21-year-old Zylon Kihal Castillo.
The search resulted in the discovery of the following firearms and ammunition: a 9-millimeter pistol with an extended magazine containing 22 live 9mm rounds; an AR-15 rifle with two magazines containing 25 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition and 26 rounds of .223 ammunition; a black SG rifle with a magazine containing 12 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, and Additional ammunition: two 5.56mm rounds, one 5.56mm round, and fifteen .223 live rounds.
