By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating an armed robbery attempt that occurred on Tuesday evening near the Establo roundabout at the entrance of Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk.
Around 6:30 p.m., three employees of United Distributor Limited were traveling in a white International delivery truck when they noticed a gold Chevrolet minivan with no license plate following them from the Mameyal curve area. Upon reaching the roundabout, the minivan overtook them and forced the truck to stop.
According to the workers, two dark-skinned men and one Hispanic man exited the van, all wearing black masks and armed with 9mm pistols. The side passengers were ordered out of the truck and were demanded to hand over money. The driver reported that one of the armed men pointed a silver 9mm pistol at him and demanded cash.
The suspects instead took a camouflage bag containing clothing belonging to one of the workers, then fled the scene in the minivan. No cash or company items were stolen, and no one was injured.
The workers attempted to follow the vehicle into Trial Farm but lost sight of it near CY Supermarket. Police processed the scene and recorded statements as the investigation continues.
