By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred just after midnight on Sunday.
According to police reports, Roberto Molina was at his home in San Antonio Village, Orange Walk when an armed culprit entered his home.
Molina and his common-law wife Jesusita Hernandez were awakened by a loud bang.
That is when the culprit identified himself as a police officer and ordered them to lay on their stomach and face the bed.
The culprit then tied them both up and threatened to shoot them if they moved.
The thief then began to ransack their home and stole a purse that had $830 cash, 1 gold chain, 1 silver bracelet, 1 Samsung cell phone, 1 Telcel cell phone, 3 flat screen TVs and $2000 cash in different denominations.
All items to a total value of $7,630
The thief handed the items over to another person that was outside waiting and escaped.
Police investigation continue.
